Laurel: Great Seneca still perfect

Joe DeVivo|Jan 02, 2006

Great Seneca ($4) remained undefeated in three starts with a 5 3/4-length victory in the $75,000 Dancing Count Stakes for 3-year-old sprinters at Laurel Park.

Ridden for the first time by Horacio Karamanos, Great Seneca covered the 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:05.25.

Trainer Gary Capuano, who had considered running Great Seneca in last Saturday's Maryland Juvenile Championship at one mile, said he sees no good reason to tinker with a successful formula.

"We will probably keep him sprinting for now. If it's not broke, don't fix it," Capuano said. "We just want to keep him sound and happy."
