Laugh Track to Double LL Farms in New Mexico

Grade 3 winner Laugh Track will debut at stud in 2015 at Double LL Farms in Bosque, N.M., after being purchased at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

The 5-year-old son of Distorted Humor will stand for a private treaty as property of Mike Abraham, who bought Laugh Track out of the horses of racing age portion of the Keeneland November sale for $125,000.

Laugh Track retires with four wins in 16 starts for earnings of $598,014. His most notable victory came in the Grade 3 Vigil Stakes at Woodbine, but he also placed in four additional graded stakes, including a runner-up finish by a neck to Secret Circle in the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Sprint. Mark Casse trained him throughout his career.

“I watched him run a lot, but never dreamed I’d have the horse,” said W.L. Mooring, owner of Double LL Farms. “He’s just a good individual horse, and a kind son of a gun. We received him on Sunday, and he’s just a dream to be around. It seems like he’s a very intelligent horse.

“I really think in my heart this horse could be a big sire in New Mexico, and he might be one that could be a good sire anywhere,” Mooring continued.

Bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm, Laugh Track is out of the Grade 3-placed stakes-winning Touch Gold mare Flaming Heart, whose four foals to race are all winners. He is a half brother to Commissioner, runner up in the 2014 Belmont Stakes.

Laugh Track raced as a homebred for WinStar Farm during his 2-year-old and sophomore campaigns, and then was sold to Casse, as agent, at the 2012 Keeneland November sale for $180,000. He was then campaigned by Gary Barber in partnership with WinStar until his retirement.
