Late pick four starts with three allowance races
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Three straight allowances anchor a nine-race Friday card at Churchill, where all racing at the 21-day fall meet is being conducted on the main track with the turf course unavailable due to renovation. They’re the first three legs in a late pick four (races 6-9) that ends with a $52,000 starter allowance in which the 5-year-old gelding Malpais will be trying to extend his win streak to eight.
Race 6 is a $134,000 second-level race going a one-turn mile. Sermononthemount and Ram, both with extensive stakes experience, are among the principals in a field of eight.
Race 7 is a $127,000 first-level dash at 5 1/2 furlongs, with Sarah Harper clearly the one to beat in a field of 10 fillies and mares after earning an 87 Beyer Speed Figure in a last-out maiden win.
Race 8 is a $134,000 second-level route in which Willful Woman, Super Quick, Town Avenger, and Moon Swag all figure as contenders in a well-matched field of nine 3-year-old fillies.
