Late pick five play for Pegasus World Cup Day at Gulfstream Park

Race 9: RED KNIGHT was in solid 1 1/2-mile form prior to a wide 11th-place finish last time out in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland. He runs well fresh and gets Eclipse Award-winning rider Irad Ortiz Jr. ABAAN figures to lead the way with the classy veteran CHANNEL MAKER tracking him throughout.
Race 10: MILES D was competitive against the likes of Olympiad, Speaker’s Corner, and Essential Quality in the past. The closer is sent out by superb layoff trainer Chad Brown and could mow down all the speed in this Grade 3 mile under Joel Rosario, who won his maiden. With a tightener under his girth, MISH could be the controlling speed along the inside.
Race 11: WAKANAKA beat two next-out Grade 3 stakes winners in the Nov. 5 Fall Harvest Stakes, the nightcap on Breeders’ Cup Saturday at Keeneland. Her only poor performance after finishing sixth in this event last year was against the boys in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile. After trailing in the Fall Harvest, DALIKA won the Grade 3 Cardinal at Churchill in front-running style. She could take some catching on a course which has been kind to speed.
Race 12: HURRICANE DREAM and SPEAKING SCOUT breezed a fast five-eighths together in 58 seconds on the Palm Meadows turf the other day, with the former galloping out on top in preparation for his first start since a successful stint in France and Germany. Speaking Scout won two 1 1/8-mile stakes for 3-year-olds in his last three outings in 2022. CITY MAN held off stablemate Decorated Invader in the Grade 2 Fort Lauderdale four weeks ago, his third consecutive stakes score and second in a row under Rosario.

Race 13: WHITE ABARRIO, who won last year’s Grade 1 Florida Derby under Tyler Gaffalione, is unbeaten at Gulfstream, and has worked encouragingly for this. CYBERKNIFE should be favored off a narrow loss in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. His outside post is a negative. SKIPPYLONGSTOCKING won the local prep with a big 106 Beyer. PROXY has been freshened since taking the Grade 1 Clark at Churchill and is an excellent layoff runner. SIMPLIFICATION was a wide third in the prep and could be the sleeper.
THE PLAY: 4, 7, 11/1, 3/2, 3/4, 7, 12/1, 2, 4, 7, 10 = $90 Ticket
