Late Night Pow Wow prevails in Sylvia Bishop Memorial

Coady Photography Late Night Pow Wow, ridden by Fredy Peltroche, wins the Sylvia Bishop Memorial by 2 1/2 lengths.
Late Night Pow Wow won her fourth straight race and her first stakes in Saturday night’s $50,000 Sylvia Bishop Memorial at Charles Town. She cruised to a 2 1/2-length win over B’s Wild Cork, while it was another 3 1/4 lengths back to See Ya Manana in third.
The Sylvia Bishop was for 3-year-old fillies bred in West Virginia. The seven-furlong race was run around two turns.
Late Night Pow Wow ($2.40) stalked fractions of 23.74 seconds for the opening quarter and 48.50 for the half-mile before going on to win in 1:26.50. Fredy Peltroche was aboard for owner and trainer Javier Contreras.
Late Night Pow Wow is a daughter of the Unbridled’s Song stallion Fiber Sonde. She has won six of seven starts and earned $112,250.
