Lasting Bubbles should like outside post in Bold Ego

Lasting Bubbles drew a post that might give her an advantage Saturday in the $50,000 Bold Ego Handicap at Sunland Park. She will break from post 8, outside the speed signed on for the 5 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares.
The Bold Ego drew a field of nine, including African Rose, Belleofthebeach, and Winter Book, all multiple stakes winners, as well as Hidethegoodstuff, who has been racing in California. The race is one of the first stakes of the young meet at Sunland, the New Mexico track located just over the border from El Paso, Texas.
KEY CONTENDERS
Lasting Bubbles (Last 3 Beyers: 75-75-85)
She is quick, but the outside draw might give jockey Glen Murphy options. Lasting Bubbles could find herself stalking Papa’s Dancing, Annie Git’r Done, Winter Book, and Warrens Venedalucy, all of whom break to her inside Saturday.
Lasting Bubbles is the 125-pound highweight following her stalk-and-roll win in the $81,000 Zia Park Distaff in her most recent start Nov. 26. She drew clear by 2 3/4 lengths, and the Beyer Figure of 75 she earned is the best last-race number in the Bold Ego.
Kevin Peek trains Lasting Bubbles for her breeder, Judy Peek.
African Rose (Last 3 Beyers: 60-69-80)
African Rose has compiled a 7-for-13 record over the local strip, and last season at Sunland, she won back-to-back stakes, the El Diario and the Harry Henson.
Justin Evans, who trains African Rose, ranks as the third-leading trainer in North America in wins this year, with 265 through Wednesday.
Ry Eikleberry has the mount from the rail for Judge Lanier Racing.
Hidethegoodstuff (Last 3 Beyers: 66-62-70)
She invades from Golden Gate and will be making her first start at Sunland.
Hidethegoodstuff ran second in a sprint stakes at Fresno the last time she ran on dirt.
Norberto Arroyo Jr. has the mount for Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and trainer Johnnie Nall.
Belleofthebeach (Last 3 Beyers: 60-63-35)
She is cutting back to one turn after running fourth in the $300,000 Zia Park Oaks, and her last two wins have come in sprint stakes at Ruidoso and the Downs at Albuquerque.
