Las Setas (blue blinkers) wins the 2019 Weber City Miss Stakes
Jim McCue/Maryland Jockey Club Las Setas (blue blinkers) was up for a nose victory in Saturday's Weber City Miss at Laurel.

Las Setas won her fourth consecutive race in the $125,000 Weber City Miss Stakes at Laurel Park on Saturday but it was far from easy. Regardless, the victory earned her a win and you're in berth in the Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan at Pimlico on May 17, and trainer Katy Voss has indicated that will be the 3-year-old filly's next race.

Our Super Freak, whom Las Setas has defeated in her last two starts, went to the lead in the 1 1/16-mile Weber City Miss. She floated Las Setas a bit wide into the first turn and set the pace on a short lead with the 4-5 favorite to her outside

Las Setas took a short lead nearing the stretch but Our Super Freak refused to fold and the pair battled the length of the stretch with Las Setas winning by a nose under jockey Jevian Toledo.

"That other filly is a fighter," Toledo said

Las Setas paid $3.60 to win in the six-horse field. She was timed in 1:44.79. The fractions were 24.76 seconds, 48.15, 1:11.87, and 1:37.84.

Pat's No Fool finished third, 4 3/4 lengths behind Our Super Freak.

Voss took Las Setas to her Chanceland Farm following her five-length victory in the March 16 Beyond the Wire Stakes.

"Today, she got a little tired," Voss said. We took her to the farm for a few weeks and maybe we didn’t do quite enough with her before this race."

Dahlia: Secret Message wins photo

Secret Message rallied relentlessly in the stretch of the $100,000 Dahlia Stakes to win a three-horse photo finish in the one-mile turf race for fillies and mares

La Moneda, the even-money favorite, forged to the lead in upper stretch of the Dahlia and just failed to last, dropping a nose decision. It was another neck back to Viva Vegas, who raced inside the top pair in the stretch and finished third

Secret Message, a 4-year-old trained by Graham Motion and ridden Saturday by Trevor McCarthy, was making her first start of the year. At 3, she finished won the Grade 3 Pucker Up at Arlington Park and finished second in the Grade 2 Sands Point at Belmont Park. She is now 4 for 10.

Secret Message paid $11.80 in the 10-horse field. She was timed over firm ground in 1:35.25.

The Dahlia was the first leg of the MATCH Series filly and mare long-turf division.
