Larkwood gets Lasix for second start
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLEETOBICOKE, Ontario – There’s only one non-claiming race on Friday’s Woodbine program, a seven-furlong maiden special on turf that contains some promising 2-year-olds, including Larkwood.
After breaking inward from post 1 in her Aug. 25 debut in a six-furlong maiden special, Larkwood closed belatedly from off fast fractions to finish third behind victorious Delamar, who returned to finish eighth after flashing speed in last Sunday’s Grade 1 Natalma Stakes.
Trainer Mike Keogh, who has solid numbers with maiden second-time starters, is putting Larkwood on Lasix for this race. His go-to rider, Jesse Campbell, will guide her again.
Larkwood will line up against 11 other fillies in the fifth race, which attracted 15 entries, including the three also-eligibles.
