Lark Rise brings $325k to top Keeneland November Book 3 finale

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The young broodmare prospect Lark Rise sold for $325,000 to lead the Sunday session at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale, which was the Book 3 finale and fifth session of the sale overall.
Keeneland reported that 248 horses changed hands on Sunday, including private sales, for gross receipts of $14,169,500. Last year's comparable fifth session grossed $15,800,500 from 272 horses sold, also including private sales.
Sunday's average price was $57,135, a slight decline of 2 percent from $58,090 in the comparable session. The median was $43,000, up 8 percent from $40,000. The buyback rate was unchanged at 22 percent.
Glennwood Farm, the breeder of 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify and 2019 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Vino Rosso, added the unraced broodmare prospect Lark Rise to its broodmare band from another prominent outfit. Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency consigned the 3-year-old daughter of More Than Ready as agent for her breeder, Juddmonte Farm.
Lark Rise is out of the unraced Giant's Causeway mare Tare Green, a half-sister to Eclipse Award champion grass horse Leroidesanimaux, Brazilian Group 1 winner Uapybo, and Brazilian Group 3 winner Disport.
Tare Green's dam, Dissemble, is a half-sister to Hasili and Arrive, both Broodmare of the Year honorees in England. Hasili is the dam of Eclipse Award champions Banks Hill and Intercontinental, Canadian Horse of the Year Champs Elysees, Grade 1 winners Cacique and Heat Haze, and Group 2 winner Dansili. Arrive produced Group 1 winner Promising Lead and Group 3 winner Visit.
