Lane's End keeps most fees stable for '08

Lane's End will hold the line on most of its stud fees in 2008, with A.P. Indy topping the bill at $300,000, the same fee he carried in 2007.

The Farish family's nursery, Lane's End will change the fees for only seven of its 20 stallions.

Those getting lower fees in 2008 are City Zip, who will go from $20,000 to $15,000; Gulch, from $30,000 to $20,000; Mineshaft, from $100,000 to $75,000; and Stephen Got Even, from $20,000 to $12,500.

Horses whose fees will rise in 2008 are Lemon Drop Kid, from $20,000 to $35,000; Pleasant Tap, from $15,000 to $25,000; and Smart Strike, from $75,000 to $150,000.

Not appearing on the 2008 roster is the 8-year-old Gone West horse Came Home, who stood last year for $25,000. Bill Farish declined to comment on the horse's absence from the stud-fee list released Monday.

Lane's End stud fees are live-foal guaranteed and are payable Nov. 1, 2008.
