Lane's End boosts Quality Road's stud fee to $150,000 for 2019
Quality Road's stud fee will more than double for the 2019 season, Lane's End Farm has announced.
Quality Road will stand for an advertised fee of $150,000. He stood for $70,000 in 2018 - up from $35,000 the prior year - after a career season in which he was represented by champions Abel Tasman and Caledonia Road. Breeders' Cup Distaff candidate Abel Tasman has continued on to be a multiple Grade 1 winner this season. Quality Road also has multiple Grade 1 winner and likely Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies favorite Bellafina on the track. He has also been represented by Grade 1 winners City of Light, Salty, and Spring Quality this year.
City of Light, who is pointing to the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, will be one of three new stallions at Lane's End for 2019, along with a pair of Breeders' Cup Classic contenders in Accelerate and West Coast. Multiple Grade 1 winner Accelerate recently took the Awesome Again Stakes over comebacking champion West Coast. The fees for all three newcomers will be announced later this fall.
The Lane's End roster also includes Candy Ride at $80,000; Union Rags at $60,000; Honor Code at $40,000; Lemon Drop Kid and Twirling Candy at $25,000; Connect, Liam's Map, and Mineshaft at $20,000; Noble Mission, The Factor, and Tonalist at $15,000; Mr Speaker and Unified at $10,000; and Morning Line at $5,000.
