Barbara D. Livingston Corey Lanerie, here aboard Molly Morgan following a win in the La Troienne at Churchill Downs, has five mounts on opening day of the Saratoga meet.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Corey Lanerie, who won his eighth Churchill Downs riding title during the spring-summer meet, will be a regular here for the second summer in a row. Lanerie is looking to get off to a fast start with five mounts on opening day, including One Minute for trainer Steve Asmussen in the Grade 3 Schuylerville and Lady Zuzu for D. Wayne Lukas in the Grade 2 Lake George.

Lanerie will be represented for the first time this summer by jockey agent Matt Muzikar.

“I was really excited when Matt called and asked if I’d like for him to take my book at Saratoga, since he’s definitely one of the top agents on this circuit,” said Lanerie.

Lanerie comes into the meet with a lot of momentum, having won stakes races on each of the last three Saturdays at three different tracks in three states, including aboard Bradester for trainer Eddie Kenneally in the Grade 3 Salvator Mile at Monmouth Park.

“I gained a lot of great experience riding here regularly for the first time last summer, and I hope to build on that again this year,” said Lanerie, who has won almost 3,800 races during his career.
