Lady Mystify notches first stakes win with Remington Park Oaks

Lady Mystify became a stakes winner Sunday night when she shuttled to a three-length win over favorite Pauline’s Pearl in the Grade 3, $200,000 Remington Park Oaks.
It was another head back in third to Amendment Nineteen.
The Remington Park Oaks was one of eight stakes on the Oklahoma Derby Day card. The races were worth a cumulative $1.1 million.
Lady Mystify ($14) broke well and traveled four wide into the first turn as My Girl Red emerged with the lead, taking the field through fractions of 23.60 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.29 for the half-mile, and 1:11.80 for six furlongs.
Lady Mystify settled off My Girl Red in third, advanced on the final turn, took the lead past the quarter pole and finished with good energy. She covered the 1 1/16 miles on a fast track in 1:44.13.
“We had a good trip,” winning jockey Flavien Prat said in a post-race interview broadcast by Remington. “She broke well, got a good breather down the backside. It was good to see her relax.
“She engaged well and responded for me down the lane.”
Mystify was coming off a fifth-place finish in the Grade 3 Torrey Pines on Aug. 21 at Del Mar. She came off Lasix for the race due to stakes protocols in California, and was back on Lasix for the Remington Park Oaks. Earlier in her career, she was an 18-length maiden special weight winner at Santa Anita.
“She’s always shown talent,” Prat said.
Peter Eurton trains Lady Mystify, a daughter of Bernardini who races for the partnership of Exline-Border Racing LLC, SAF Racing, and Richard Hausman.
Lady Mystify earned $120,000 for the Remington Park Oaks win, which was her third from six starts. She now has career earnings of $217,520.

Sea Level ($5.60) rallied from off the pace for a 3 1/4-length win over Hits Pricey Legacy. The daughter of Exaggerator covered the 6 1/2 furlongs for 2-year-old fillies in 1:18.41. She races for her breeders, Barry and Joni Butzow.
