Lady Mia looks solid in Incredible Revenge Stakes
?q=100)
Lady Mia has been a reliable favorite as a rule and on Sunday she could be the chalk in the $100,000 Incredible Revenge at Monmouth Park.
The race features fillies and mares at five furlongs on turf. It has drawn a field of nine, including main-track-only entrant Pacific Rose and defending winner All That Magic. Love Appeals, Bosserati, and Shoshanah are all cross-entered in the $150,000 Andy Guest at 5 1/2 furlongs on turf Sunday at Colonial Downs.
Lady Mia has gone off as the favorite seven times in her career and has won four of those races. She brings some established class into the Incredible Revenge as she was Group 3-placed in her native France in October 2022.
Lady Mia also owns some of the field’s best Beyer Speed Figures, has familiarity with the turf course at Monmouth, and gets the services of a high-percentage jockey in Jairo Rendon. Her case is further strengthened by the fact that her New York-based trainer, Christophe Clement, is 6 for 18 this meet at Monmouth.
Lady Mia has natural speed and figures to be prominent when she starts from post 3, possibly tracking On the Payroll and a fresh Glitter Up. A concern is whether the distance Sunday is a tad too short for the filly, who has registered four of her five wins at six furlongs.
Lady Mia is one of four runners in the field who were supplemented to the Incredible Revenge. The others are Bel Pensiero, Glitter Up, and On the Payroll. Lady Mia races for Madaket Stables, Steven Rocco, and West Point Thoroughbreds.

All That Magic won last year’s Incredible Revenge when it was run over 5 1/2 furlongs. She led throughout for a nose win, and the performance capped a streak of four consecutive victories.
All That Magic could be sitting on a peak race Sunday, when she makes her third start since November. Nik Juarez, who was aboard for all of the races during her win streak last year, has the mount from post 6 for trainer Kathleen DeMasi.
On the Payroll was an allowance winner over the Monmouth turf in June. She’s made one start since, and was third in a local allowance won by Love Appeals on July 19. Lady Mia was second in the race as the favorite and finished a half-length in front of On the Payroll.
Glitter Up gives up recency to these as she is making her first start since February, but she has run some races that would put her right in the mix Sunday. She’s also a winner over the local turf course at Monmouth.
Glitter Up will break from post 2. Trainer Timothy Hills has given the mount to Jomar Torres. Glitter Up is a daughter of Connect and a half-sister to stakes winners Griff and Sand Dancer.
Bosserati is a winner at five furlongs on turf.
◗ The Oceanport and Select stakes did not fill for this weekend and have both been brought back as extras for Friday’s card, according to the overnight from Monmouth.
