Lady Jila collects 20th career win in Molly Brown

Lady Jila won the $40,000 Molly Brown Stakes for the second year in a row on Sunday, when she came back for a head win over Stormquility in the feature at Arapahoe Park. It was another three lengths back in third to favorite Lady Contender.
The Molly Brown was for fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, at six furlongs.
Lady Jila ($6.80) broke on top and was 1 1/2 lengths clear of her rivals through an opening quarter in 22.62 seconds. She maintained her advantage through a half-mile in 45.75, was engaged in the stretch, and prevailed on a fast track in 1:10.25.
Mike Ziegler was aboard for Michael Barro and trainer Sharlot Martinez. Martinez also won the $40,000 Aspen Stakes on Saturday at Arapahoe with Magical Twist ($8.20).
Lady Jila has now won 20 races, with 11 of those wins coming at Arapahoe. She is a 8-year-old mare by Jila and she was bred in Arizona by Barro.
