“The strong global appeal of the November sale sets it apart from all other breeding stock sales,” Keeneland vice president of racing and sales Bob Elliston said in a release. “This auction is the primary source for domestic and international buyers for stakes-winning fillies and stakes-producing mares in foal to the world’s most exciting stallions while being a key market for weanlings and horses of racing age. We look forward to the November sale building on the strength of the recent September sale and the excitement of the Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs.”
Undefeated Dream Tree, who is scheduled to race in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, will be offered during the sale's first session as a racing or broodmare prospect. Other Grade 1-winning fillies and mares cataloged in Book 1 include Lady Ivanka, Sailor's Valentine, Vasilika, and Zipessa.
Two-time Horse of the Year California Chrome is among this year's first-crop weanling sires, and is represented by 14 foals from his first crop in the Keeneland November catalog. Among this year's first-year covering sires, Horse of the Year Gun Runner and leading money winner Arrogate both have 13 mares in foal in the auction.
