Lady Contender sharp for Molly Brown

Lady Contender will be cutting back to one of her best distances on Sunday, when she moves from a mile to six furlongs for the $40,000 Molly Brown Stakes at Arapahoe Park. The race for fillies and mares drew a field of six, including defending champ Lady Jila.

Lady Contender invades off a third-place finish in the $55,000 Downs at Albuquerque Distaff, won by the quality miler African Rose. Prior to that, Lady Contender had won a pair of stakes at six furlongs and six and a half furlongs at Fonner Park.
