Laboccetta suspended, fined

Trainer Frank Laboccetta Jr. began serving a 15-day suspension on Tuesday after a postrace urine test revealed the presence of clenbuterol in Let It Shine, who finished first in the first race at Aqueduct on March 27. Laboccetta waived his right of appeal in order to have the suspension reduced from 30 days.

Laboccetta was also fined $2,000. Let It Shine was disqualified and unplaced, and Her Place was awarded first-place money.

According to the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, Laboccetta also was fined and suspended in September 2001 for a clenbuterol positive.
