La Tia returns in Buena Vista

La Tia, unraced since winning the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes at Del Mar in November, will be favored to win her third consecutive stakes in Monday’s $200,000 Buena Vista Stakes at a mile for turf females at Santa Anita.
Trained by Armando De La Cerda, La Tia is among seven probables for the Grade 2 Buena Vista, a field likely to include Annecdote, who won the Group 3 Noble Damsel Stakes at Belmont Park last September; Diversy Harbor, who was second by a nose in the Grade 3 Robert Frankel Stakes on Dec. 27; and Nashoba’s Gold, the winner of two stakes for 3-year-old fillies on turf here last summer.
The 6-year-old La Tia has won 10 of 23 starts and earned $983,326. La Tia’s current winning streak began in the Grade 3 Athenia Stakes at Belmont Park in October.
