La Nez sold, set for Juvenile Fillies Turf

La Nez, winner of the California Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita earlier this month, was purchased privately by Tom Arndt of A&R Racing and Joe Masino of Class Racing on Monday and has been pre-entered in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, trainer Eric Kruljac said Tuesday.

La Nez formerly raced for Kruljac and Nezi Simmons. The filly has won 2 of 5 starts and $150,600, including a third in the Grade 1 Darley Debutante Stakes at Del Mar in early September.

The BC Juvenile Fillies Turf over a mile will be her first start on grass and first start around two turns.

Kruljac said the deal, first discussed earlier this month, was completed late Monday morning, just minutes before the deadline for pre-entries. Financial terms were not disclosed.
