La Cour, managed Clovelly Farm, dead

Lars La Cour, longtime manager of Kentucky's Clovelly Farm, died June 23 in East Berne, N.Y. at age 85. A native of Denmark who came to the United States in 1948, La Cour managed Clovelly in Lexington, Ky., for more than five decades. The Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers Club named him the organization's Farm Manager of the Year in 1982.

A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. on July 3 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Berne, N.Y., and a memorial service was to take place later in Lexington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, 5 Computer Drive West, Albany, N.Y. 12205.
