Knicks Go named World’s Best Racehorse of 2021

Knicks Go has been crowned the World’s Best Racehorse of 2021 by Longines and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.
Knicks Go reached an international rating of 129, highest in the world last year, through his performance in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Brad Cox trains Knicks Go for the Korea Racing Authority. The 6-year-old horse by Paynter out of Kosmo’s Buddy, by Outflanker, is scheduled to make his final start before his stallion career in the Pegasus World Cup on Saturday at Gulfstream Park.
The IFHA, through Longines’ sponsorship, convenes an international panel of racing authorities to publish global ratings throughout year, feting the top-rated horse with a year-end award.
Knicks Go’s rating of 129 was two points higher than the trio of Adayar, Mishriff, and St. Mark’s Basilica and fell in line with ratings of most previous winners of the award. Knicks Go is the first American horse to be named World’s Best Racehorse since Arrogate in 2016. Arrogate hit a mark of 134 that year.
