Klesaris suspended 15 days

Trainer Steve Klesaris was to begin serving a 15-day suspension Sunday after one of his horse's tested positive for acepromazine, a sedative, following a race at the Belmont spring meet.

The suspension was reduced from 30 days for Klesaris waiving his right of appeal.

The suspension will run through Sept. 26.

Sabre Baby, who ran third in the fifth race at Belmont on May 21, was the horse who showed the medication in his post-race urine sample. He was disqualified from third and unplaced in the order of finish.
