Kiss Thru Fire finally gets her stakes win in Charger Bar Handicap
Kiss Thru Fire won the first stakes of her career in Sunday’s $100,000 Charger Bar Handicap for Quarter Horse fillies and mares at Los Alamitos in her ninth appearance in a six-figure race.
A winner of 6 of 18 starts who has earned $438,253, Kiss Thru Fire had been close to a major win, finishing second in the All American Oaks at Ruidoso Downs in September and second in the Southern California Derby in her last start at Los Alamitos on Dec. 20.
In the Charger Bar against a tough group of older females, Kiss Thru Fire ($10.40) won the 400-yard race by a half-length over 4-1 Cat Daddys Lil Girl. Kiss Thru Fire was timed in 19.62 seconds.
