LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kiss the Kid, a dual Grade 3 winner, has retired to Journeyman Stud in Florida after earning $820,873 on the track. A 7-year-old Lemon Drop Kid horse, Kiss the Kid will have his fee announced soon, according to the Ocala, Fla., farm. A $270,000 yearling, Kiss the Kid went on to win or place in 17 stakes, a dozen of them graded. He won the 2008 Cliff Hanger Stakes and the 2009 Appleton Stakes, both Grade 3, and two other stakes. His stakes placings include a third in the 2008 Donn Handicap. Kiss the Kid retires with a career record of eight wins, seven second, and seven thirds, from 40 starts on dirt, grass, and synthetic surfaces. He also earned triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures 10 times during his career. Kiss the Kid is out of the Danzig winner Black Tie Kiss, a half-sister to 1991 Horse of the Year Black Tie Affair.
