TUAANDTWENTYSIX
Trainer: Kellyn Gorder
Last race: Oct. 21, 3rd
Finish: 4th by 2
Beyer: 49
Ran sneaky well at 14-1 odds in finishing fourth in a straight maiden race on the Keeneland turf, losing by only a couple lengths despite a wide trip. According to Trakus, she covered 46 more feet than the winner. She will need to run much faster than a 49 Beyer Speed Figure if she is to break her maiden in Kentucky this fall, but may have the chance to do so if able to land an inside draw and secure a ground-saving trip.
HARD LEGACY
Trainer: Norm Casse
Last race: Oct. 20, 10th
Finish: 1st by 7
Beyer: 72
Gave off the impression of being a stakes filly in the making in winning at first asking at Keeneland Oct. 20. Well held while tracking the pace, she inhaled the leaders once cut loose and extended her lead down the lane. Her 1:48.14 time for 1 1/16 miles on a yielding turf course was .31 of a second faster than a similar maiden race on the card.
TRINGALE
Trainer: Christopher Davis
Last race: Oct. 18, 9th
Finish: 3rd by 1 3/4
Beyer: 77
Flashing more speed than he had displayed in three earlier starts, he tussled with a pair of front-runners for the lead and held on well to be third. By comparison, the other speed horses retreated to be in the rear half of the pack.
AMY’S CHALLENGE
Trainer: Mac Robertson
Last race: Oct. 20, 9th
Finish: 6th by 6 1/2
Beyer: 74
A filly whose strength is her speed, she missed the break in the Raven Run, losing all chance. Although never a serious factor, she still put forth an honest effort to defeat over half the field. She seems capable of better with an alert beginning.
