King Humor takes them all the way in Ocala Flame

Despite a less than perfect start King Humor was able to remain undefeated with a game win in the $75,000 Ocala Flame Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Thursday. He paid $2.80 as the solid choice in the 6 1/2-furlong dash for 3-year-olds.
With Edgard Zayas aboard, King Humor broke a step slow but quickly recovered and held the lead at all the calls. He was a half-length in front of Take Your Place while posting a quarter-mile time of 22.36 seconds. Take Your Place was a length behind at the eighth pole, but gave way with Powerful Venezuela taking up the chase. King Humor was able to hold him off to win by a half-length. Noble Drama got off to a poor start and then rallied late to finish three-quarters of a length behind Powerful Venezuela.
The final time over a track rated fast was 1:17.35.
A Kentucky-bred son of Distorted Humor, King Humor races for Heczor Investments Corp. and is trained by Victor Barboza Jr.
