ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Jockey Kazushi Kimura swept both $100,000 Ontario-sired 2-year-old stakes on Saturday’s Woodbine card, taking the South Ocean for fillies on favored Olivia Rose and the Frost King aboard longshot No More Options.
Olivia Rose ($4.90) wired a six-horse field in the 6 1/2-furlong South Ocean, scoring by 6 1/2 lengths in a quick time of 1:15.74. Hurricane Clair raced in second throughout and Fourfiftyfour checked in third.
Trained by Mark Casse, Olivia Rose banked $60,000 for owner Gabe Grossberg, who also bred the daughter of Silent Name. She was the fifth winner on the card for leading rider Kimura.

“She’s [really] improving,” Kimura said. “She has natural speed and it was easy to get the lead. I was a little bit concerned about [her being] aggressive, but she showed me a second gear and a third gear.”
No More Options gave owner Mary Self her first stakes victory in the 6 1/2-furlong Frost King. The daughter of Frac Daddy stalked the dueling stablemates, Garofoli and 1-5 favorite Junior Hot Shot, while saving ground through the turn.
Kimura angled No More Options outside for the drive and they hit the front with a sixteenth left before drawing clear for a 2 1/2-length tally, in a time of 1:16.44. Siesta Beach rallied inside for second and Junior Hot Shot wound up third in the five-horse field.
No More Options ($34.20) banked $60,000 for Self, the daughter of the filly’s trainer, Zeljko Krcmar.
“I’m happy for my dad,” Self said. “He’s 82 years old and this is a big deal for him. I knew he’d find a place—Kazushi will always find a hole. I had full faith in him. The horse is just incredible. I’m very blessed. We found him at the sale and he stood out. He’s my second 2-year-old ever.”
