Keystone Field points to Razorback Handicap off 102 Beyer

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Keystone Field, who owns the current highest Beyer Speed Figure for races at a mile or longer in 2023, is scheduled to make his next start in the Grade 3, $600,000 Razorback Handicap on Feb. 18 at Oaklawn Park, trainer Mike Maker said Tuesday.
Keystone Field earned a career-high Beyer of 102 on Jan. 7, when he captured a two-other-than allowance at Oaklawn. The race was run over the same 1 1/16-mile distance that the Razorback will be contested. Keystone Field stalked the pace in the allowance and powered home by 4 1/4 lengths, covering the distance in 1:42.80.
“I liked the way he settled and I liked the way he finished,” Maker said. “He’ll come back in the Razorback.”
Keystone Field won the $200,000 Claiming Crown Jewel in November at Churchill Downs. He races for Three Diamonds Farm. Keystone Field is a full brother to Candy Ride, a Grade 2 winner who earned $1.2 million.
