Key work to determine Imperial Hint's travel plans

OLDSMAR, Fla. - The standout sprinter Imperial Hint is scheduled to breeze later this week at Tampa to help determine whether he will be sent to Saudi Arabia for the $1.5 million Riyadh Dirt Sprint on Feb. 29.
Trainer Luis Carvajal Jr. said that if Imperial Hint is to run in the Saudi race, he will be flown there Feb. 18. Either way, Carvajal is intent on making the $2 million Golden Shaheen at Meydan in Dubai on March 28.

“If we go to the Saudi race, we will stay overseas to run back in Dubai if everything goes well,” said Carvajal.
Imperial Hint, a 7-year-old owned by Ray Mamone, has won 14 of 24 starts and more than $2.2 million. He was third as the favorite in his most recent start, the Dec. 21 Mr. Prospector at Gulfstream Park.
His latest breeze on Feb. 4, a five-furlong work in 59 seconds, was his sixth straight bullet drill at Tampa.
