Kentucky Oaks futures bettors sitting pretty with Untapable

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bettors who got 5-1 on Untapable in the only Kentucky Oaks Future Wager this year find themselves in a good position with the filly classic to be run Friday at Churchill Downs.
Untapable is 4-5 on the morning line for the 140th Oaks, and Churchill linemaker Mike Battaglia said he believes “she’ll probably even be a little lower.”
Untapable was the lukewarm favorite in the Oaks pool, held Feb. 27 to March 1, while six other fillies were among the 22 other separately listed wagering interests to make the race: Fashion Plate (38-1), Got Lucky (23-1), Please Explain (26-1), Ria Antonia (14-1), Rosalind (26-1), and Unbridled Forever (8-1). Of those, Fashion Plate, the 6-1 second choice on the program, is the best deal.
The remaining six Oaks starters all are part of the mutuel field, the 24th or “all others” option, which closed as the 5-1 second choice.
Combined (win/exacta) handle on the Oaks futures, which coincided with Derby Futures Pool 3, was $81,234.
