Kentucky Downs postpones Sunday card to Wednesday

After announcing earlier in the morning via Twitter that its 10-race Sunday card was still on, officials at Kentucky Downs announced shortly after 8 a.m. Central that the card has been postponed in its entirety to Wednesday.

Rain that pounded other areas around the track finally found its way here in the early morning, and there was no sign of a letup, making racing today unfeasible.

Daily Racing Form will reprint past performances for the postponed Sunday card in its Wednesday editions.

Closing day of the five-day Kentucky Downs meet is Thursday. Churchill Downs begins its 11-day September meet Friday and will host four stakes Saturday.
