Kentucky Derby: Who's hot, who's not for April 21, 2021

WHO’S HOT
Dream Shake, Get Her Number, and O Besos moved into the final Derby Watch top 20 when three horses ranked above them on the points list all were withdrawn. Dream Shake, whose connections are weighing the merits of running in the Kentucky Derby versus the Pat Day Mile the same day at Churchill Downs, is a 50-1 shot on the line of Daily Racing Form’s Marty McGee for the May 1 Derby. Get Her Number also is 50-1. O Besos is 30-1. The unbeaten champion colt Essential Quality remains the solid favorite, at 2-1. McGee now has Known Agenda the second choice at 6-1 after being 8-1 last week. Mandaloun (was 20-1, now 15-1), and the quartet of Bourbonic, Caddo River, Dynamic One, and Helium (all were 50-1, now 30-1) also had their prices lowered owing to the defection of Concert Tour, who was 10-1 last week.
WHO’S NOT
Concert Tour, Panadol, and Rombauer all were withdrawn from Derby consideration, even though all three had sufficient points to run in the race. Hot Rod Charlie, the second choice last week on McGee’s line, moved from 6-1 to 8-1, making him the co-third choice with fellow California-based Rock Your World.
ON THE BUBBLE
Hozier, surprisingly back under apparent consideration after a dreadful performance in the Arkansas Derby, is 21st on the points list, followed by King Fury. Their connections are hoping for defections from the top 20 prior to entry day on Tuesday. Otherwise, they will be stuck on the also-eligible list.
