Renegade, winner of the Arkansas Derby in his last start, remained as the 5-1 Derby favorite as of 9:45 p.m. Eastern Friday, approximately 21 hours before the race, with three horses edging closer to the favorite’s odds. Renegade, who was the morning-line favorite on the Churchill line but the second choice for Daily Racing Form’s David Aragona, was a slight favorite over a trio of horses at 6-1 – Santa Anita Derby winner So Happy, Blue Grass Stakes winner Further Ado, and Florida Derby winner Commandment.
