Tuesday marks the last day of the elongated 2019-20 Tampa Bay Downs racing season. This meet was an invaluable diversion and source of entertainment for horseplayers during the pandemic, and this final card – fittingly – will be a focus on what is otherwise a typically nondescript Tuesday on the summer racing landscape. That’s thanks to a pick six forceout that features a $61,218 carryover, and with a 20-cent base wager, it’s affordable to all. Here’s one way to play it: RACE 3: MYSTIC MOON will be a huge price and seems worth a stab as she tries grass for the first time as trainer Bernardo Lopez scored with Mike Is Ready here back on May 20, another runner stretching out and moving from dirt to turf in in his second career start. HIGH CLASS PLAYER ran her best race in four career starts in her lone try on turf, two back, and that was a better effort than the sixth-place finish would suggest. LITTLE MS BROADWAY has high speed and a solid chance to steal this, as she nearly did two back. DREAMINOFDASIES fits well enough based on her last two on the turf. RACE 4: ADONAI BLESS wasn't badly beaten when she stepped up to face nonwinners of three in her latest, and she could be the main threat late. MANCORA was a winner at this level two back but was DQ'ed; dangerous if loose. LANGUE LIEE faced open claimers in her latest after beating nonwinners of two in her prior try; this is a big class drop, and she does have enough speed to stay close from the start. TORNERO gets back on her preferred surface and she cuts back to a sprint, but she may still be the main speed in this field, which is a little light on pace. :: Click to learn about our DRF's Free Past Performance program. RACE 5: ELLA'S ISLAND and TIDAL FIELD are the two established speeds in this field, with the former coming off a solid effort for the show, when she prompted the pace and weakened only late; she will be tough to reel in if the latter takes back off her in the opening stages. Using them both for the purposes of this ticket, but the other becomes a solid "A" play if one should scratch. NOSTALGIA took advantage of a quick, contested pace in her latest, and if she gets that type of setup here she's the most likely winner. RACE 6: J'S SILKY raced on the turf in her career debut, but she impressed in defeat, setting the pace while under pressure and tiring only late; has an edge in experience over many of these same rivals. Though she switches surfaces, trainer Maria Bowersock wins at a 20 percent clip with that angle. RACE 7: CROWN OF JOY should get the best race flow she's gotten all year in this turf route; that may be just what she needs to turn the corner as she is better than she has shown thus far in 2020. ALLURING APPROVAL will take them as far as she can on the front end; she has speed but she did sit off the pace two back before making a run, and she's a threat if she moves forward off that effort. RACE 8: Using all 10 in the finale, a pretty competitive claimer for nonwinners of three. Wouldn't mind seeing top pick CHILI MAC N CHEESE win this, as he figures to be a big price despite the drop from allowance company, but any number of these could win this without being considered a huge surprise. THE PLAY: 1, 2, 5, 7 / 1, 2, 4, 7 / 1, 5, 8 / 10 / 8, 9 / ALL = $192 Ticket
