LEG A (Laurel 6th): B DETERMINED didn’t run badly in that career debut at Penn and he’s a threat Friday with a slight move forward. PALACE KID has proven speed and hails from a barn that excels with new faces. TRUE SHIPMAN is kin to a turf winner in Tuffy’s Lucky; worth including at a price.

LEG B (Gulfstream 8th): ANOTHER SOFTBALL makes his seasonal debut, but he has run well fresh off the layoff in the past. He has speed but can also rate if need be. JOYFUL HEART gets back to one turn, and some of the best Beyers of his career have come in grass sprints. LAWYER DRILL ran a better race than the running line may indicate two back, his last race on the turf; dull try in his latest, rained off the grass, is easily forgiven.

LEG C (Laurel 7th): BIG BOOTS was against the race flow in each of his last two starts, and that cost him not only better finishing positions but also higher Beyers; prior figures plenty good enough to win this if he’s able to run to them in his first start off the claim, and given enough help from the pacesetters this time, he should be able to do just that.

LEG D (Gulfstream 9th): KOBE FIFTY TWO was sharp in that debut run, and though he meets winners for the first time he fits here on the strength of that Beyer. WILD ONE FOREVER had trouble in each of his last two starts but with a clean trip he obviously has room to improve. SOUPER SHENANIGAN is winless on the turf, but he certainly has run well in defeat, including that last try.

LEG E (Laurel 8th): GLITTERING JUDY has proven high speed and now adds blinkers; clearly the one to catch, and while she has stopped on loose leads in the past she also has some of the better Beyers in the field. PINK PEARL could be the main threat in the lane; she hasn’t been out since August but she’s dangerous if she can run back to her best figures.
