Kenny Peck provides his analysis, selections and suggested ticket structure for Saturday's Pick 6 at Belmont. RACE 6: Using them all in the Matron, a wide-open turf sprint that’s difficult to narrow down with a firm opinion. Top pick MAINSTAY is making her turf debut, like a few of these runners, but she could fall into an ideal trip behind a contested pace, as could any number of these runners. RACE 7: CHANNEL MAKER (#6) faded after setting the pace on a loose lead at this same distance last time out but he had to work hard to get clear. This Joe Hirsch Turf Classic seems to feature a much different race flow, and this gelding seems capable of getting loose on the lead and backing down the fractions more sufficiently this time around. RACE 8: SHERIFF BIANCO (#8) gets back to six furlongs and the last time he was at this distance he was a game 2nd. He could well be the controlling speed in this sprint, which is otherwise light on pace, and if he is able to set his own pace from the start he has license to run back to that last figure, which seems good enough to win this. RACE 9: VILLAINOUS (#2) didn’t break well in that last one and then was caught behind slow splits for the second straight race; better set up can move him way up. CANTRELL HILL (#4) goes longer for this and he figures to use his tactical speed to his best advantage; steady Beyers add to the appeal. DADDY KNOWS (#7) could be the primary pacesetter in this field. GRUMPS LITTLE TOTS (#8) has some of the better Beyers in the field and a decent late kick; dangerous in the lane. RACE 10: DURESS (#7) gets back to six furlongs and this does appear to be his best game, and that makes those last two starts -- going a sixteenth shorter than this -- easy races to overlook; the Beyers he’s posted at this distance make him a legit threat. ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS (#9) is another who seems to prefer this distance; he and MYSTERY MESSENGER (#2) were a head apart back in June when they last met. BIG PACKAGE (#4) has a strong late kick and should be well set up to make a late impact. CHOCOLATE BAR (#8) turns back in distance and may find this distance to be just what he’s looking for, especially if he gets a quick, contested pace up front, as expected. RACE 11: SANDRO THE GREAT (#12) has improved with each turf start in terms of Beyers, and that 72 Beyer he earned in his last start on the grass -- despite a slow start, as he hit the gate -- makes him very tough here. This will mark his first start for a tag on the turf and he may well be too good for these if he moves forward yet again. THE PLAY: ALL / 6 / 8 / 2, 4, 7, 8 / 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 / 12 = $240 Ticket
