Kenny Peck provides his analysis, selections and suggested ticket structure for Saturday's Pick 6 at Belmont. RACE 5: FOOLISH GHOST (#3) gets back to 6 1/2 furlongs in the Hudson Handicap, and the effort he turned in three back at this distance makes him easy to like, the sloppy strip notwithstanding. The horse to beat, however, is NY TRAFFIC (#8); he is known for his work routing but that win over this strip at seven furlongs back in May gives him strong credibility. RACE 6: LETMETAKETHISCALL (#4) faded after prompting the pace in her first start off the layoff but if she can take back early on and work out a trip behind a duel between the two favorites she may be able to spring an upset in the Iroquois Stakes. ESPRESSO SHOT (#6) is another who stands to benefit from a quick, contested pace up front. Of the two speedy favorites, THE IMPORTANT ONE (#2) seems more reliable, as she doesn’t necessarily need the lead. RACE 7: VENTI VALENTINE (#1) showed a good late kick in that debut score and she figures to be running late once again in the Maid of the Mist. SUE ELLEN MISHKIN lost her best chance at the start of the Spinaway but she certainly has room to improve today with a clean getaway. SANDY’S GARDEN (#5) certainly merits a look after that authoritative debut score at Finger Lakes. Build your ticket with DRF Bets TicketMaker here. RACE 8: ICE PRINCESS (#1) missed by less than a length on the turf last time but she does seem to be at her best on the dirt, and her most recent effort and Beyer on the main track clearly makes her a contender in the Empire Distaff. MAKE MISCHIEF (#4) was a neck behind the winner in her latest after she broke through the gate just before the start; prior top route figures plenty good enough. MRS. ORB (#6) was against the race flow when last seen; closer has room to improve today. RACE 9: The Empire Classic runs through AMERICANREVOLUTION (#5), who will be very tough if he runs back to that 101 Beyer he posted in the Pennsylvania Derby. He’ll be looking to come from off the pace but there does seem to be ample speed in this field to set him up. RACE 10: CITY MISCHIEF (#3) tries seven furlongs for the first time as he returns from the layoff but this distance shouldn’t be an issue for him, as he should appreciate the extra ground if he sits off a pressured pace. CHROME DIXIE (#7) makes his first start off the Chad Summers claim and is easy to like off a narrow loss in his return from the short break. WAR TERMINATOR (#12) is wide but he’s the one to fear on the strength of his Beyers; he’s been away since May but trainer Jonathan Thomas does well with horses off this type of break. THE PLAY: 3, 8 / 2, 4, 6 / 1, 5, 6 / 1, 4, 6 / 5 / 3, 7, 12 = $162 Ticket
