Ken Rudulph, one of the original members of TVG’s broadcast team, and Matt Bernier, a former handicapper for Daily Racing Form, have been hired to team up for the network’s “Morning Line” studio show, TVG announced on Thursday. Rudulph, who was an anchor at TVG from the network’s launch in 1999 until 2011, will serve as the host of Morning Line, while Bernier will appear as a handicapper. The program appears prior to the start of the race cards for tracks on the East Coast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Rudulph, who left TVG to serve as the host of a morning program at a station in his hometown of Sacramento, made several appearances on TVG this summer in conjunction with the network’s promotion of its 20th anniversary. In addition to his previous work at Daily Racing Form, Bernier currently serves as a handicapper and reporter on NBC’s horseracing coverage. Bernier got his start in racing after qualifying for a seat at the 2013 National Handicapping Championship in his early 20s. “Ken’s special guest appearances as part of our 20th anniversary celebration reminded us all of the great energy he brings, and Matt is an up-and-coming talent with a keen approach to handicapping,” said Kevin Grigsby, the executive producer for TVG, in a statement.
