Kela's Turn gets stalking victory in Treasure Chest

Kela’s Turn was always prominent for a length win over favorite Becca’s Rocket in the $100,000 Treasure Chest on Friday at Delta Downs. It was another neck back in third to Shes Our Fastest.
The one-mile race was for fillies and mares.
Kela’s Turn ($7.40) stalked Russian Roulette in third Friday, as that one took the field through an opening quarter in 23.55 seconds and a half-mile in 47.88. Shes Our Fastest took over through six furlongs in 1:13.51, but Kela’s Turn moved past that one and went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:41.67.
Alex Birzer was aboard for trainer Henry Guillory Jr.
Kela’s Turn is a daughter of Kela who races for her breeder, Loretta McClintock. She has now won 7 of 11 starts and has earned $296,040. Kela’s Turn was winning her fourth stakes race Friday. Earlier this year, she won a pair of Iowa-bred stakes at Prairie Meadows.
