Keep On Truckin keeps on rolling in Clarendon Stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - The favored Keep On Truckin went straight to the front and never looked back to post his second authoritative score in as many starts in Saturday’s $125,000 Clarendon Stakes at Woodbine.
Keep On Truckin opened up a four-length lead over a stalking Forester’s Fortune at the quarter pole in the sprint for Ontario-bred 2-year-olds. He drew off in the lane to prevail by 7 3/4 lengths over Meyer, in a quick time of 1:03.07 for 5 1/2 furlongs.
The debuting Gelato Amore finished a distant third over a fading Forester’s Fortune. Professor Tally was scratched from the four-horse event, which only had win, place, and exacta wagering.

Emma-Jayne Wilson rode Keep On Truckin, a gelded son of Society’s Chairman, for trainer Catherine Day Phillips.
“He’s a beast,” Wilson said. “I breezed him in the morning the other day, and he just did it so easily. Today, when the doors opened, he was all business. He went on with it. He out-broke them. I had the jump on them. I just let him settle into a rhythm.”
Keep On Truckin ($3.40) earned $78,750 for the partnership of George Ledson, Brian Ledson, and Anderson Farms Ontario Inc.
