Keeneland session peaks at $65K

Keeneland's 12-day November breeding stock sale ended its next-to-last session Thursday with a $65,000 Deputy Minister mare named Hoxsey the top seller.

Hoxsey, a 5-year-old daughter of stakes winner Jetto, by Easy Goer, sold to Machmer Hall and partners. She is in foal to Gilded Time.

Longfield Farm, agent, sold the mare.

The Thursday session grossed $2,749,200 for 232 lots sold. The average price was $11,850, and the median was $8,000. Through day 11, the 2004 auction had sold 2,684 horses for $278,373,300. The 11-day cumulative average price was $103,716, the median $35,000.

On Wednesday, the auction's 10th session peaked with a 3-year-old Grand Slam filly, Ruthless Babe, who sold for $105,000 to Arch Bloodstock. Dromoland Farm, agent, sold the filly as a racing or broodmare prospect.
