Keeneland September: Hips to watch at Saturday's closing session
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Keeneland September yearling sale comes to a close with its 12th session on Saturday, closing out Book 6.
The following are horses to watch in the finale, selected largely based on their pedigrees, and these selections factor in catalog updates and sale outs through Thursday morning, although that could change rapidly There are a significant number of withdrawals for the Book 6 sessions.
Hip 3931, filly by Vino Rosso - Sparkling Champagn, by Malibu Moon. Consigned by Brandywine Farm.
This is the first foal out of a mare from the family of Grade 1 winners Danza and Majestic Harbor.
Hip 4078, colt by Sharp Azteca - Flume, by Verrazano. Consigned by Hidden Brook, agent.
Sharp Azteca has been one of the breakout freshman sires of this season. This is the first foal out of a mare from the family of Epsom Derby winner and European champion New Approach.
Hip 4079, King Freud, colt by Freud - Follow My Luck, by Elusive Quality. Consigned by Vinery Sales, agent for Allen Hallett.
This New York-bred by the state's perennial leading sire is a full brother to a winner. This is the immediate family of successful New York-bred Good Luck Gus and of Grade 1 winner Strategic Maneuver.
Hip 4085, filly by Blame - Georgia Blue, by Exchange Rate. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent.
Blame is emerging as a solid broodmare sire, and this filly's dam has produced two winners from as many foals of racing age. This is the immediate family of champion Summer Bird and of Grade 1 winner and leading sire Tapit.

This French-born colt is by a successful sire and out of a Grade 2 winner.
