Keeneland: Only to You survives in Dowager

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Only to You survived the late charges of Bowl of Emeralds and Krisada to win a tight three-horse photo in the $111,400 Dowager Stakes at Keeneland.

Only to You, a 5-year-old Lord at War mare owned by Sam-Son Farms and trained by Mark Frostad, returned $7.40 as the second choice in a field of seven. Playact, the 6-5 favorite, finished fourth, 3 1/2 lengths behind the top group.

Over a yielding turf course, longshot Black Truffle set the early pace in the 1 1/2-mile race, but Only to You easily surged past in the far turn and opened a commanding lead. Bowl of Emeralds, a 14-1 shot, and Krisada, the 7-2 third choice, both came flying, only to just miss.

For Albarado, it was the second time he had ridden Only to You to a notable victory: His 2,000th career win came aboard her in April 2000.
