Keeneland hosting benefit

Byron King|Jun 15, 2004

Central Kentucky Riding for the Handicapped will conduct a benefit on Saturday evening at Keeneland's Keene barn, with proceeds funding therapeutic horseback riding classes and a proposed indoor arena at The Kentucky Horse Park.

The event will feature a 1930's theme and includes dinner, swing music, riding performances by students in the program, and a live auction. One of the notable auction items includes a 5 percent ownership interest in Ready to Live, a Steve Asmussen-trained 2-year-old filly by More Than Ready out of a Crafty Prospector mare who won her only race, at Lone Star Park on April 21.

Tickets to the gala, called "Night of the Stars," are $100 and are available through Pat Kline at Central Kentucky Riding for the Handicapped: (859) 231-7066.
