Keeneland has cataloged 1,827 horses for its Jan. 10-14 horses of all ages sale in Lexington, Ky.The catalog is up 4 percent from this year’s initial catalog of 1,753, which had been a 26-percent drop from 2009.The 2010 January sale catalog consists of 800 broodmares and broodmare prospects, 643 yearlings, 380 racing-age horses, as well as the stallions Weather Warning, Domestic Dispute, and Performing Magic, and a share in Monarchos.In 2010, the January auction sold 982 horses for $23,895,100, for an average price of $24,333 and an $8,000 median. Gross receipts were down 27 percent from 2009’s total for 1,338 horses. The average price fell less than 1 percent, and median was off by 16 percent.
