Improving filly must deal with this distance for the first time yet still warrants some consideration if early fractions are on the mild side; she upgraded in her latest a.m. move at Churchill; not sure she can deal with likely pace pressure though.

Dream Softly

Used up in a speed duel in her March debut but she has been breezing steadily for the return; her sire won the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile and 1.26 million; the dam was unraced; among the winning siblings is 79K earner Morethanatale.

Juliamarie

Quit early in all outings thus far and despite this being her first race for a tag, is a tough take; some respectable breezes turned in during the last month but they still are likely to prove insufficient.

Infliction

Has the advantage of a race over the track and it was a decent, even effort from the outside; can be on or near a softer pace here and that will be to her benefit; also of interest is the latest strong breeze from the gate; legitimate contender.

Silver Exchange

Game to capture the place in her maiden voyage despite a wide trip; her sire won multiple G2s and 1.04 million; the dam won 1 of 9 attempts and 34K; among the winning siblings is 31K earner Badge Master.

Sherika

Newcomer hails from Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus who won 6 of 9 starts and 1.99 million (his offspring have scored in 63 out of 579 debuts); the dam won 2 of 13 and 48K; winning siblings include 205K earner Magdalena's Chase.

Vice Dancer

Do not be dissuaded by the numerical rise as she appears a solid candidate today especially with the equipment change; was game in defeat in that large field and should be an immediate pace presence here.

Noya

Firster was sired by multiple G1 type Langfuhr who notched 698K and whose progeny have won nearly 10 percent of their debuts; the dam won 1 of 3 and 27K and this is her only foal to make it to the starting gate.

Andmoreexcuses

Gained considerable ground while gigantic odds in her first venture at this oval; if she can receive a quicker early tempo, she can advance much further today; must avoid those slow-breaking tendencies.

Juanita Senorita

Lost by a diminishing margin last month when just missing the place; one of several in the field racing outside of the special weight class for the first time, she should be able to hit the board with a clean, stalking trip.

Palmetto Star

Displayed more early speed than usual last time, her first local appearance; would move up her chances here if there are key late scratches, specifically Dark Ocean or Vice Dancer; otherwise, she might be hung out to dry.

Race 3

Forget That Gal

Has never raced this long in career; was claimed off her 1st-synthetic surface loss posting her lowest Beyer speed figure since October, 2012; removes blinkers for the 1st time trying to shake up the form; best Beyer was posted on turf at 3.5F shorter than this; know her early but unsure about late.

Perfect Praise

Deep closer is 1-for-1 on KEE synthetic and it was her last victory scoring over the track for 40% of today's price tag so she has to pass a class test to win this; her best Beyer was posted on turf at today's distance and clearly the 8.5F stamina test is her best game; was edged by the 2-back show runner who Beyered 80 in a next-out KEE-alw. win.

Bustle

1st-time on synthetic for a 24%-winning trainer since 2012 on this type of oval; high-percentage jockey-trainer combo adds to the appeal but wish she fired better 1st off the claim when more was expected as the betting favorite; the 3-back show runner Beyered 76 in a next-out SAR-optional-claiming win; will be taking a wait and see approach.

Platinum Steel

Has been a new runner since stretched out to 2 turns on synthetic including latest decision over Baltoro but is in with a negative 2-pound weight swing off that effort for this; latest KEE workout was superb so do not have any doubts she will like this oval; figures to stalk the speed and looms a major factor from bell to finish.

Baltoro

Positive 2-pound weight swing from the length loss to Platimun Steel; the question is today's distance as her last win occurred at 1 Mile and she faded 2-back traveling this far; defeated the July show runner who Beyered 66 in a next-out PID-5K-claiming win.

Truly Marie

Has never raced this long but latest suggests she may be able to go this far; chased the runner-up finisher from last who Beyered 80 in a next-out HAW-optional-claiming win; beat the 2-back show runner a next-out 76 speed figure AP alw. winner; handled the 3-back show finisher a next-out 73 speed figure AP-optional-claiming victor.

Quiet Success

Her last synthetic start was more than a year ago and a dismal performance badly outrun thoughout albeit vs. graded-stakes company; the winner from last repeated in a WO-105K stakes with an 84 Beyer; her 2 wins were stalking trips but went a little speedy crazy in recent defeats; tons to prove returning to the synthetic strip for this.

Welcome Aboard

Leaves a high-win percentage trainer's hands which is not a good win angle; beat the 2-back show finisher who reversed that decision in last while she posted her lowest Beyer since July, 2012; lone-synthetic start was at 3.5F shorter than this but it produced an exacta finish; owns her best Beyer at today's distance on grass and the green has clearly been her best surface.

Rock Art

Light Beyers on display when matching them up with her competitors here; lone win occurred on grass from post 11 and has been unable to produce a better speed figure since then while facing winners; leaps up in class off a loss which is also not a good win angle.

Off My Cloud

The winner from last repeated in a PEN starter alw. with a 64 Beyer; has been working like she will fire well over a synthetic surface for a 24%-win barn since 2012 on this type of oval; lacked stamina at shorter on dirt in latest which is a major issue here; last win was traveling this far but raced right off the lead that day when posting a career-best Beyer; view a space presence.

Sassy Brunette

The 1st race off the claim produced her lowest Beyer since the did-not-finish running line in Feb. on SA dirt; seeks her 1st-synthetic surface in-the-money finish; her last start on this of surface was an off-the-board finish for a fraction of today's elevated price tag; outsider to encounter a wide-ground losing trip; she adds blinkers seeking answers.

Judging from the way that this filly has run the last two times she's been entered after a layoff, it's probably a good idea to look for her to be ready to give a good account of herself, especially with a bullet four-furlong workout in tow.

Little Nip

She's been in good form lately, and even though she might prefer sprinting over routing, she did run well at today's distance two starts back at Indiana; however, this does appear to be a tough group of N2X allowance rivals for her to meet up with.

Coup

The long layoff is an obvious concern, but this filly has a good deal of natural ability to work with and this is an outfit that is capable of having one ready to fire off of a long layoff like this; she has some solid looking recent workouts and the winner of her latest race has since become a G1 winner.

Royal Fury

Of the horses in the main body of this race, she's the only one who can boast three victories, and she does appear to be on top of her game entering this contest; her only start over this turf course wasn't a strong run but it was in a very tough maiden event.

Gleaning

Have a lot of respect for what this barn has done with their turf starters in recent years, and if this half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Gotta Have Her (10-28, $1.1 million over turf) can reproduce the level of performance she showed up with at Churchill Downs two starts ago, she'll make it very tough on these.

Bold Kitten

She's a stakes winner over the synthetic surface at Arlington and she's run well enough in her two turf starts to be taken seriously in this spot; runner up from latest won next out here on 10/18 going 1 1/16m over turf in a G3 with a 91 Beyer; Hill has won with 45 of 141 (32%) mounts for this barn in 2013.

Who's Mary's Daddy

She's going to have to step up with her best effort to date to beat this field, but her turf form has been okay and she's out of a multiple stakes winning dam who won 2 of 24 turf starts for 140k; winner from latest won next out at PID on 9/2 going 1m vs. N3L alw. rivals with a 77 Beyer.

Seanchai

Stakes placed miss has a strong pedigree for turf and her overall form has been plenty strong enough to give her a competitive look in this spot; it looks like she's been training well as she gets ready to make her first start for the Proctor barn; runner up from latest won next out at GP on 9/28 going 1m over turf in a 100k stakes with an 85 Beyer.

North by Northlite

She's probably going to need to see a very slow early pace develop to have a chance at keeping herself involved in the running late, and she might find this to be a tough assignment even under ideal circumstances; runner up from latest won next out at PID on 9/2 going 6f vs. 40k OPC's with a 76 Beyer and 3rd finisher won next out at Prx on 9/8 going 1 1/8m over turf vs. 25k OPC's with an 83 Beyer.

Franky and Jane

Feel that it's fair to wonder at this stage if she can be as effective routing as she is sprinting, and this isn't a soft spot for her first start since April; runner up from latest won next out at Ind on 7/3 going 6f vs. N1X alw. rivals with a 71 Beyer.

Derby Eve

Full brother to multiple G1 winner Colonel John (6-15, $1.7 million, including 1-for-1 over turf for 55k) has looked good since moving into this barn and he deserves another chance to see what he can do over turf; 3rd finisher from latest won next out at KD on 9/25 going 1 5/16m over turf vs. alw. rivals with an 86 Beyer.

She's Popular

Have to respect the improvement she's demonstrated from start-to-start to begin her career and she enters this race off of a sharp winning performance; the outside post isn't ideal, but still going to respect her as a legitimate contender.

One Last Nitemare

Respect the fact that she's an 11-time winner, but her one start over turf wasn't one of her better performances, and her best effort appears to be short of the mark of what will be needed to win this.

Race 8

Simon Eyes

Stretches out in his return to the scene of the maiden score after just missing at Presque Isle; he'll get an added panel in which to make his run in here and he has a right to be better with his return from 9 months on the shelf but he could use some pace help in front of him.

Seve

Switches surfaces after running out of ground in each of his last 2 on the Kentucky Downs lawn; colt made a decent late run to get a share off a year on the shelf here in the spring and he's been breezing well at Churchill for this, but he's another who could use some help in front of him while again drawing inside.

Good Tickled

It's been a while since his maiden score but he's given a good account of himself in each of his last 3 starts; sophomore earned a light number when beaten chalk going shorter here a couple of weeks back but maybe the added panel helps him some today; price will be improved.

Street Call

Tenth time proved the charm for this guy, but they needed to drop him in for a tag to get his maiden score; he's been working ok over synthetic footing for his first try over this type of footing, but the gelding will need to step things up from a figure standpoint to have a say first time against winners.

Impassable Canyon

Just missed in the Presque Isle route and now he'll turn back while stepping up to face older rivals; sophomore ran well in both of his one turn starts and he may have a little more to offer late on the turn back today; solid pilot gets aboard for a barn that's having a nice meeting; consider.

Cone of Light

Took a big step back last time off a couple of close off the board finishes at Preque Isle; gelding did break his maiden over the local main track first out in the spring, but off what he's shown since returning from the freshening it's tough to make a serious case for him.

Simple Interest

Enters this fresh after failing to go on in the Saratoga slop last time; gray has been right there in each of his synthetic spins including the solid debut effort from the local fence in the spring and his recent breezes are pretty sharp; expecting he'll be gunning from the bell.

Big Lute

Came up short late as the chalk in his first with older when returning from 7 months on the shelf at Churchill; expecting he'll be much tighter with that one behind him as he did return to work well there last week; he has the new footing to deal with here, but it looks like they'll have him to beat.

Music Critik

Gelding makes his first local start with a new pilot named; gelding did work well here last week and he enters this riding a Beyer upswing, but he'll need to keep getting better to have a shot at factoring while back in with older; prefer others.

Inherently

Turns back to sprint after tiring from his pace efforts against restricted runners at Indiana Downs; gelding may have a little more to offer late at this trip, but he hasn't run fast enough to contend with these and hasn't done much sprinting; longshot.

Del Mar Sunset

Last out graduate draws outside for his return from the freshening in his first with winners; he's been working quite well here and the way he took to synthetic footing at Arlington suggests there may be even more to come; move to the outside slot gives his new pilot options; giving him the repeat nod.

Race 9

Brown Eyes Blue

Sharp as a tack now, miss should appreciate the shorter trip today; she has the speed to flee the fence and she ran her eyeballs out in defeat in the last grass attempt; she has been much more professional this year and proved she could take the heat of duel and still live to tell about it last time; she has had 4 tough races in a row, probably needs to improve to keep up the streak.

Great Red Beauty

She brings speed to the table but there are others with designs on the top; the 3rd and 4th finishers 9/7 won next out; rider is 3 for 11 for this barn in the last year of so; miss has a right to grow into her skin as kin to stakes placed over $300K earner Golden Gator; not sure the race sets up all that great for her.

Shrinking Violet

Miss came back running and she proved she can string winks together; place horse in the July race took a $40K Del Mar optional next out; she is going great guns right now but her stablemate seems a bit more potent; key off the DMR and she still is a legit player.

La Song

This miss fits the conditions the best as she was just beaten a neck in the Grade 3 last year; sire was never on grass, dam lost twice on turf and this is her first to go; can't be thrilled about the lone grass effort; needs to pick it up after the cave in job last time.

Box Office Smash

Dixie Union has hit with about 8% of his first-time turfers in a 296-runner survey; sire took 7 of 12 including multiple G1s, earned over $1.2 million, never turfed; stakes placed dam earned over $100K, won twice, once on grass; lone half sis to race won twice on grass in the minor leagues; place horse in last cashed next out in an N2L at PID with a 65 Beyer; she has not been able to duplicate the maiden breaking Beyer; probably needs softer to shine.

Eddington's Note

Eddington 7 for 133 with first-time turfers; sire took a Grade 1, he went on to earn over $1.2 million and won only turf out; dam was unraced; this is her first to roll; she did win in the second off the layoff effort in May; would be careful here.

Cor Cor

She has serious speed as she has never been beaten to the half; proven fresh, she has already re-paid her $40K purchase price; the place horse in the turf win cashed next out in a $75K Fair Grounds stakes; like the recent drills and she showed more energy in the work a week ago; just may forget to stop.

Cheetah Pants

She may have just been overmatched in last as that was her only poor effort; like the series of drills this month and trainer has spotted them just fine all year; the fact she won her debut give her a right to fire fresh and the last race came back live as the place horse took a $25K optional next out and the show horse took a $75K Philly stakes in next, both with 78 Beyers; try to get a good look at her on the track.

To My Valentine (FR)

Soph got away with a pretty soft half in last but today's pace will be much quicker; Group 3 placed last year, she has trained fast for this return including the best of 19 bullet 8 days ago; could see her sitting a nice stalk and rally journey; all systems go.
