*NOTABLE WORKOUT INFORMATION: March 13 workout matches barn's juvenile SCRUFFY MURPHY (finished sixth in career debut at Sunland Park on March 30 with 19 Beyer Speed Figure)
Analysis:
TRISTANME's connections (owner/trainer/jockey) teamed up for Wetzel's debut win in the initial juvenile race of the 2010 meeting and Steve Asmussen sent out Malawi, a daughter of Tristanme's sire, Bwana Charlie, to win first-out during the 2009 spring session. A half-brother, Regiment, earned a 100 Beyer Speed Figure when second in the Grade 3 Cinema going nine furlongs on turf.
GOODEVENINGOFFICER is by a precocious sire and there is a ton of class in this female family. A half-brother, Kristali, received a career-best 93 Beyer Speed Figure when winning a two-turn optional claimer.
HARLAN'S RUBY is by a solid stallion and the bottom side of this family is tilted to speed. She has been working swiftly at the Oakridge Equine Center.
NINA FEVER goes out for a strong first-out barn and made a nice impression on the Keeneland Clockers. The Clocker Report for March 28 noted that she "makes a strong physical appearance for Ward. She was somewhat better than workmate Madam Diaries with a good finish in 23.2 for both two year olds." Nina Fever is the first runner by Borrego, a stout performer that relished a distance of ground.
K C LEE shows a quick workout from the gate over this synthetic surface. KEEPING MY FOCUS may appreciate a bit more ground but this barn sent out a live debut runner in yesterday's opener. TELMA only cost $1,000 as a yearling and may want more distance.
