6. Unstoppable Colby

(Pulpit - Great Design, by Storm Cat)

7. Roll All Knight

RACE 8

1. Cool Cowboy

(Kodiak Kowboy - Grand Breeze, by Grand Slam) Well-regarded for the debut, he finished behind My Crafty Friend, a gelding that returned to win the $89,000 Crown Ambassador Stakes for Indiana-breds (51 Beyer); hustled from the gate 9/14 and made an easy lead going into the turn; opened up at will turning for home and was never threatened while under only hands and heels urging; could prove the main speed from the rail and must be respected.

2. Pure Luxury

(Exchange Rate - Luxury Ride, by Pulpit) Handled 3rd-finisher Harbor Bound in the debut and was flattered somewhat when that gelding returned to finish second here 10/5 with a 74 Beyer (13-point improvement); don't be too harsh on the loss at Kentucky Downs as he faced a very promising runner in Boji Moon and the runner-up came back to win an 'N2L' heat here with an 80 Beyer; has good tactical speed, but needs a Beyer boost to take these down.

3. Sandbar

(War Pass - Summer Cruise, by Vicar) Well-beaten in the faster division of a $50,000 stake at Delaware, he then finished third behind a pair of fillies (finished tenth and fifth, respectively in the Grade Jessamine here on 10/9) going long on turf; has yet to gain ground from the stretch call to the wire and needed help from the stewards to obtain his lone victory; prefer others.

4. High Roll

(Roman Ruler - Wild Crazy Lady, by Touch Gold) Didn't have a problem in the debut, but that race hasn't produced much (the seven next-out runners he beat returned to compile a 0-3-0 record with a Beyer top of 65); gave a disappointing effort as the chalk in the Grade 3 Arlington-Washington Futurity as he was going up-and-down with 5/16th remaining after a failed three wide bid; think he'll appreciate cutting back in class; according to 10/7 Keeneland Clocker Report, he "was not asked for run, in front of Ucanchangethename"; capable.

5. Chippewawhitechief

(Weigelia - Chippewa, by Alleged) Bumped at the start last time, he was outsprinted through some fast fractions while saving ground entering the turn; eased to the far outside turning for home and came with a determined run to outfinish them all; the seventh-place finisher returned to upset an 'N2L' allowance on turf here with a 78 Beyer; should get some pace to attack once more and can threaten with a good late kick.

6. Pablo Del Monte

(Giant's Causeway - One Hot Wish, by Bring the Heat) No surprise in his debut as he dominated for Ward, annually the top trainer in 4 1/2-furlongs baby races during the spring meet; the runner-up that afternoon took the Grade 3 Arlington-Washington Futurity two starts after being blitzed by this one; there's no doubt that he's quick, but the layoff and additional quarter-mile are things to worry about; according to 10/5 Keeneland Clocker Report, he "was impressive, broke 3-4 lengths in front of Hollywood Talent, allowed that one to catch up, and easily pulled away in the stretch"

7. TASHIR (Afleet Alex - Twin Induction, by Slewacide)
Form is dirtied up somewhat as he chased a gate-to-wire winner over a speed-favoring track in the faster division of 50K stakes on 7/29; last time, he attempted two turns for the 1st time and passed some tired ones; think he'll like turning back in distance and there's some speed for him to target; may need career-best run against some promising foes; not convinced.

8. He's Got Talent

(Talent Search - Honeymoon Baby, by Lemon Drop Kid) Didn't seem very interested on turf as the rider had to ask him early on the turn and he was all done with three furlongs left to run; beat a moderately-talented field in his career debut and he may work out a decent outside stalking trip in this heat; Ward is 19-97 over the past 5 years with 2yos off 61-180 day layoffs (2-4 turf-synthetic); prefer on bottom of exotics.

Selections:
1. Chippewawhitechief
2. Cool Cowboy
3. High Roll

The Play:
Chippewawhitechief to WIN and PLACE at 9-2 odds or greater.
