Keeneland April 2-year-old sale will return in 2019

Keeneland has set the return edition of its April 2-year-olds in training sale for Tuesday, April 9.

The sale will follow the opening weekend of Keeneland's spring race meet, which opens on Friday, April 5. An under-tack sale preview show will be conducted on Monday, April 8.

“The April sale affords horsemen several unique advantages,” Keeneland's vice president of racing and sales Bob Elliston said in a release. “One is the opportunity to present a consignment before a number of prominent owners and trainers at Keeneland for opening weekend of the spring meet, which begins April 5, and includes the Toyota Blue Grass. Another is the chance to breeze your juvenile over Keeneland’s dirt track and turf course, two of the best racing surfaces in the country.”

Keeneland conducted its April sale of 2-year-olds in training from 1993 to 2014, after which the auction went on hiatus.
